Camelback Mountain  
(22 minute drive from the hotel) 

Camelback Mountain, with an elevation of 2,704 feet, is an excellent hike or climb in Arizona and is located in the middle of the Phoenix Valley with great views just a short drive from our hotel. Camelback Mountain is a hiking destination for both locals and tourists in the Valley and is located in the Camelback Mountain Echo Canyon Recreation Area between Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

Papago park

Just minutes from us, Papago Park offers exceptional hiking and a wide array of recreational facilities.  Comprised primarily of sandstone, the range is known for its massive buttes that rise and fall throughout the park.  The trails that interlace the area are generally easy treks.  A famous attraction is the Hole-in-the-Rock, a series of openings eroded in a small hill composed of bare red  sandstone formed some 6-15 million years ago.  The park's smooth footing and low elevation gain make it a popular place for running and mountain biking. Papago Park is home two of the regions most visited attractions, the world-class Phoenix Zoo and the stunning Desert Botanical Garden.

Phoenix Zoo

 The Phoenix Zoo is one of the largest non-profit zoos in the U.S., caring for over 3,000 animals, with nearly 400 species represented, including many threatened/endangered species. The zoo has over 1,400 animals on display and contains 2.5 miles of walking trails. It is divided into four main themed areas or trails: The Arizona Trail (American Southwest flora and fauna), the Africa Trail (animals from Africa), the Tropics Trail (residents of the rain forests), and the Children's Trail, which includes a petting zoo.

Desert Botanical Gardens

Desert Botanical Garden is home to thousands of species of cactus, trees and flowers from all around the world spread across 55 acres in Phoenix, Arizona.  The garden now has more than 50,000 plants of which one-third of are native to the area, including 379 species, which are rare, threatened or endangered.
